Old Town in Toruń is amazing and that’s not only because it was added to the UNESCO’s Cultural and Natural Heritage List in 1997. It’s cool, but the best thing is that it still looks like when it was built and nothing has changed since the middle ages. Therefore, you can admire an amazing architectural complex with all ideas from the 13th century.
It’s definitely a world class monument. It shows how gothic style looked in its purest form. That includes granaries, merchant’s and bourgeois blocks, palaces, high gothic churches and an amazing Old Town Hall.
Also, the Old Town is picturesquely located by the Vistula river and surrounded by green areas with the most beautiful parks in Toruń called Planty. That’s where the green areas were established when the medieval fortifications were torn down in 19th century. It was expanded in the 20s of 20th century when some more fortifications were removed
