A military castle on the Trail of Eagles’ Nests. It’s surrounded with Mirów rocks which makes it one of the most interesting castles in Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. It’s located on a small hill from which you get a beautiful view of the surrounding area.
It was built thanks to Casimir III the Great, but probably there were some other buildings here before. There’s another castle just 20 minutes from here – Bobolice. It consisted of two courtyards, an inhabited tower, an upper part and a gate.
In the beginning it was the seat of Sasin the burgrave, then families Koziegłowscy and Myszkowcy. It started to turn into a ruin in 18th century.
