Right now, there are just ruins left of the guardhouse that was probably built in 14th century by the order of Vladislavus II of Opole or Casimir III the Great. Like the guardhouse in Suliszowice, it served as a defensive support to the Castle in Ostrężnik.
In 15th century it was the property of the bandit called Mikołaj ‘Siestrzeniec’ Kornicz who was a favourite of locals since he only robbed the rich. The legend says that he hid the stolen treasures in the rock fissures and in the castle well. Maybe it’s worth looking for them?
There used to be a castle with a moat at the foot of the stronghold.
