We’re on our way to Pisz and we’re slowly approaching Ruciane-Nidy. Suddenly a small orthodox church appears on the left. Sometimes such places are the best – only fields around, a few houses and an orthodox church with a little cemetery. We’re happy that we found it as we don’t want ‘Poland from a done’ to only include well-known places. So we stop by to record the place.
The church was built in 19th century in imitation of Russian orthodox churches. In Wojnów nearby, there’s an Old Believers’ monastery which you can also see on one of our videos. Russians wanted to force the Old Believers into union with the Orthodox Church.
