This man-made lake on Bóbr river is 190 ha big. Its average depth is 3 metres, but close to the dam it’s as deep as 10 metres. In the beginning it was a dry retention basin built on the verge of 80s and 90s. In 1989 another dam was built making it one of the highest situated dammed reservoirs in Poland (it’s at 537 metres above sea level). It supports a hydroelectric power station MEW Bukówka.

As you can see from the drone’s perspective – the reservoir is not barred. You can see anglers all over the place, fishing for some serious fish here. Bukówka is the biggest bathing area around and it’s supposed to boost the recreational nature of the region. No wonder as the potential is tremendous. And the views…
